Its reinforced glass walls face inward toward a contained marine environment, where vast fields of eelgrass stretch across the chamber floor, illuminated by faint, filtered light. The structure was built to study a stable halocline, a boundary between two bodies of water that refuse to mix, creating a visible distortion where light bends and movement becomes difficult to track. The ring design allows continuous observation from every angle, though visitors report that completing a full loop feels inconsistent, as distance and time begin to lose accuracy the longer they remain inside. The eelgrass moves in slow, uniform patterns despite minimal current, a behavior that has yet to be explained.
