Understanding Differentiation Part 2: Rates of Change

Differentiation and integration are the two main operations in calculus. We just discussed one way to interpret differentiation by finding the equation for a tangent line. Let's look at one other way to interpret differentiation, by discussing the rate of change in the position of an object, or its velocity.
